Fabric of Time – Olive Wood Sculpture

Not created, but revealed. A monumental abstract object from a four-century-old olive, balancing on the edge of avant-garde and ancient organic matter. Sculpture as frozen poetry of time and matter.

Description

Rotating the sculpture “Fabric of Time” around its axis, the viewer is captured by infinite kinetic forms. Volumes flow into one another, creating an illusion of continuous movement—as if the root continues to grow before your eyes, bending in a complex, rhythmic dance. The work is devoid of statics: every line and curve dictates its own unique tempo, turning wood into an organ breathing with natural grace. This is not just a sculpture; it is frozen choreography of nature.

The artist intentionally left extensive voids in the structure, and it is these voids, rather than the wood itself, that become the main protagonists of the composition. Light passing through the labyrinth of gaps fractures, creating a whimsical play of shadows on surfaces polished to a mirror shine. When viewing the work, the boundaries between matter and space blur: the viewer may see in the intricate tangles of the root both outlines of abstract animals or human silhouettes, and fantastic cosmic landscapes. This is a sculpture-game, inviting personal contemplation.

Special charm is added to the work by the palette dictated by the material itself. Four centuries spent by the olive in the earth have rewarded it with a complex pattern—from dense honey-amber shades to deep chocolate and ashy inclusions.

“Fabric of Time” is not an interior object, but an independent artifact possessing its own powerful energy. Its presence in space redefines the concept of eternity. The work fits perfectly into conceptual spaces that value deep philosophy, minimalism, and connection with natural elements. It can be placed on a podium or a console, always remaining a focal point for the eye.
